Fashion legend Donatella Versace is embarking on an exciting new journey, collaborating with the Revolve Group to introduce a distinct beauty and fashion line. This initiative represents Versace's renewed commitment to a primary creative position, intending to resonate with a contemporary audience by integrating novel styles and cultural interactions.

Donatella Versace's Strategic Alliance with Revolve Group Reshapes Fashion Landscape

In a significant announcement that captivated Milan Fashion Week, Donatella Versace revealed her return to the creative helm through a groundbreaking joint venture with the Los Angeles-based Revolve Group Inc. This new independent enterprise is meticulously crafted to embody Versace's unique artistic vision, focusing on engaging a new generation's approach to discovering style, experiencing culture, shopping, sharing, and connecting.

This development follows a period of notable transitions for Versace. In March 2025, as part of a brand repositioning under Capri Holdings, Versace had stepped down from her nearly three-decade tenure as chief creative officer of her eponymous brand, a role she assumed after her brother's passing in 1997. She subsequently took on the position of chief brand ambassador. The interim also saw Prada Group acquire Versace last December, and the creative leadership shifted from Dario Vitale to Pieter Mulier after one season.

At 71, Donatella Versace's influence continues to span across generations. Her formidable online presence, boasting 12.2 million Instagram followers, is mirrored by her offline impact. Memorable appearances, such as her cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2, and the enduring allure of her vintage designs frequently gracing red carpets, exemplify her lasting appeal. Celebrities like Zendaya, Miley Cyrus, and Jennifer Lopez have recently showcased iconic Atelier Versace creations, underscoring Versace's indelible mark on fashion history, notably with the legendary plunging gown Lopez wore to the Grammys in 2000, which famously spurred the creation of Google Image Search.

The collaboration with Revolve Group, a California-based fashion and lifestyle retailer, seeks to leverage this widespread recognition. Versace expressed her belief in the power of connection, stating, "Revolve understands something I believe deeply: culture comes from connection. Together, we want to create that connection with a new voice, a new look, and a new energy."

Founded in 2003 by Michael Mente and Mike Karanikolas, Revolve Group has expanded its online presence to feature 1,600 brands across two platforms: Revolve, for established labels, and Fwrd, for emerging designers. The company reported a total revenue of $1.23 billion in 2025 and has previously made headlines with joint ventures, including a beauty category entry with pop star Cardi B and a collaboration with influencer Sofia Richie Grainge.

Michael Mente, co-founder and co-CEO of Revolve Group, lauded Versace, noting, "Donatella is one of the defining creative voices of our time. This partnership gives that vision an entirely new platform and the freedom to build something from the ground up." Raissa Gerona, president of brand and partnerships, echoed this sentiment, highlighting Versace's "extraordinary instinct for what the next generation wants and an unmatched ability to connect fashion with culture." Mike Karanikolas, co-founder and co-CEO, concluded, "By combining Donatella's creative authority with Revolve's technology, infrastructure and global reach, we have an opportunity to create something genuinely distinctive — and build it for the long term."

The new brand is set to launch across the United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, with the first products and the brand name expected to be unveiled in 2027. The project's broad scope and ambitious vision extend beyond traditional runway presentations, encompassing various forms of entertainment. Versace articulated her philosophy, stating, "I believe creativity should be fearless, inclusive, and alive in the world. I have always been inspired by the next generation, in music, film, art and, of course, fashion. This partnership gives me the freedom to speak to that generation in a completely new and personal way, through beauty and fashion."

This strategic alliance between Donatella Versace and Revolve Group Inc. signifies more than just a business deal; it's a bold declaration of a creative force re-engaging with the fashion world on her own terms. It highlights the evolving landscape of luxury fashion, where traditional design houses are increasingly looking towards innovative partnerships and digital-native platforms to connect with a global, younger audience. This venture promises to be a fascinating exploration of how heritage and contemporary influence can merge to shape the future of style and cultural engagement.
