This guide provides essential information for players of Phantom Blade Zero who are seeking to enhance their character's abilities by acquiring Banyan Hearts. These crucial items unlock powerful skills and are vital for progression. The article details the precise location of the first Banyan Heart, offering strategies to overcome a challenging boss encounter, and reveals the whereabouts of subsequent Banyan Trees spread across the game's expansive world. Additionally, it informs players about an alternative method to obtain these hearts through a merchant.

Unleash Your Potential: Master the Banyan Hearts

Obtaining Your Initial Banyan Heart

Your journey to acquire the first Banyan Heart culminates within the Crimson Forest. Specifically, after activating the Parting Mists bell and successfully defeating the formidable Stone Fist Iron Fever, the path to your first Banyan Heart becomes clear. Proceed past the bell and venture to the small island located directly ahead, adorned with a prominent tree. Interacting with this tree will transport you into the mystical trial realm of The Banyan Tree.

Conquering the Banyan Tree Trial

Within The Banyan Tree's trial realm, you will face three successive waves of adversaries, culminating in a confrontation with Jing Ye, the notorious bleed bandit boss you previously encountered in the Crimson Forest. Similar to the challenges presented by the Long Pillars, a bell is available for use if you fall in combat. Should you successfully clear any stage of the trial, your progress is saved, allowing you to resume from the next phase if you are defeated. Jing Ye is known for being a particularly vexing opponent. To gain an advantage, consider equipping the Cavalrybane accessory, obtainable in the Crimson Forest, to inflict increased damage when he is mounted. Additionally, the Shieldbreaker talisman, if discovered in the Weeping Creek Valley, will expedite the process of shattering his shield. When facing Jing Ye, prioritize drawing him away from his accompanying enemies. Evade his bleed projectiles, as blocking them still contributes to the bleed status. Upon witnessing him dismount, immediately unleash a fully charged Dread Axe Phantom Edge attack to maximize damage to his shield. Should you still encounter difficulties, remember that revisiting this challenge later in your playthrough is always an option. Once Jing Ye is vanquished, the coveted Banyan Heart will be yours.

Discovering Additional Banyan Trees

The acquisition of your first Banyan Heart initiates the 'Heart of the Banyan' quest, tasking you with finding four more. The second Banyan Tree is situated in Pangzhen, within its second chapter, near the Lion Dance Hall in the northwestern area. The third Banyan Tree can be found early in the Mandate Encampment. The fourth Banyan Tree awaits on an island nestled within Meigu Lake. The final tree is located in the Mountain of Imprisonment, accessible via the main regional path, although the Illusory Pipa is required to reach this specific location.

Acquiring Banyan Hearts from Quickhand Zhang

Beyond finding them in the game world, Banyan Hearts can also be purchased from Quickhand Zhang. He offers these valuable items for 100,000 currency at his various dens, starting from the Village of Lu. It appears that Zhang's inventory refreshes with a new Banyan Heart each time you discover a new den, a process potentially linked to completing his treasure hunt quests.
