The Pokémon Company has officially declared the cessation of services for its popular free-to-play MOBA title, Pokémon Unite. This significant announcement confirms earlier speculation that arose after the game's exclusion from the Pokémon World Championships in July. The discontinuation will come into effect on March 23, 2027, impacting players across both Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms.

As part of this impending shutdown, several key changes are being implemented. The sale of Aeos gems has been immediately suspended, although players will still be able to utilize any remaining gems until the final day of service. Additionally, new purchases and automatic renewals for Unite club memberships have also been halted. Looking ahead, a special in-game event and a new update are scheduled for November. This update will offer players opportunities to obtain various items, including Unite licenses and Holowear. A new 'Library' feature will also be introduced, designed to allow players to access certain records and in-game content even after the service officially ends, provided they complete a required data download.

The End of an Era for Pokémon Unite

The Pokémon Company has formally announced the discontinuation of services for its free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, Pokémon Unite. This decision will take effect on March 23, 2027, and will impact players across both the Nintendo Switch and mobile device versions of the game. The announcement follows prior indications, including the game's removal from the Pokémon World Championships, which had fueled speculation about its future. Players are encouraged to continue enjoying the game until its final day of operation, after which logging in or participating in battles will no longer be possible.

In preparation for the service termination, The Pokémon Company has already suspended the sale of Aeos gems, the in-game currency, as of today. Existing gems can still be used until the service concludes. Furthermore, new subscriptions and automatic renewals for Unite club memberships have also been halted. Players who wish to retain access to certain in-game records and content post-shutdown will need to complete a mandatory 'Library' data download before the March 2027 deadline. This feature aims to preserve a limited aspect of the game experience, though library data will generally not be transferable between devices, and support for it will cease after the service ends. Despite the game's impending closure, the Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo Competitive Crown tournament is still scheduled to proceed.

Preparing for the Final Phase: Special Event and Library Feature

Ahead of the official service termination date for Pokémon Unite, The Pokémon Company has outlined plans for a significant in-game event and update scheduled for November. This forthcoming update aims to provide players with a final opportunity to engage with the game and acquire various in-game assets, such as Unite licenses and Holowear. The initiative is designed to offer a form of farewell and appreciation to the dedicated player base before the game's ultimate shutdown. These efforts demonstrate a commitment to supporting the community through the transition period leading up to the service's end.

A notable addition in the November update will be the introduction of a 'Library' feature. This innovative function will allow players to view specific game records and in-game content even after the service officially ceases. To utilize this feature, players must complete a required library data download before March 23, 2027. Failure to do so will result in the inability to access the library feature post-shutdown. It is important for players to note that library data will typically not be transferable between different devices, and customer support for this feature will no longer be available after the service concludes. Players encountering any issues or requiring assistance related to the library feature are advised to contact support before the final service termination date.

Unraveling the Mystery: Korra's Role in the Cataclysm of Republic City
For over two centuries, Avatar Korra has been blamed for the destruction of Republic City. A new vision in "Avatar: Seven Havens" episode 7 seemingly confirms this, showing Korra in the Avatar State unleashing spiritual energy amidst burning streets. However, a closer examination of the scene reveals that Korra is targeting spiritual energy pipes, not people or buildings. This suggests a more complex narrative where Korra might have been trying to prevent an even greater catastrophe, rather than causing it. The absence of a significant necklace further hints at a personal conflict that could have preceded these events.
