A rising talent, Connor Storrie, star of the acclaimed series "Heated Rivalry," is currently in negotiations to join the cast of Marvel's highly anticipated "Ghost Rider" movie. He is poised to take on a significant villainous role, acting opposite Ryan Gosling, who is already attached to the project.

This cinematic endeavor is under the direction of Shawn Levy, with the screenplay crafted by Jonathan Tropper, known for his work on "Star Wars: Starfighter." The film is slated for a release in the summer of 2028. Both Levy and Gosling are also involved in the production, alongside Marvel Studios' prominent figures Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Stephen Broussard, with Richie Palmer and Jessie Henderson serving as executive producers. This opportunity represents a considerable leap for Storrie, whose career has been on an upward trajectory since his breakout performance as Ilya Romanov in "Heated Rivalry," a role that propelled him into the public eye after years of working as a waiter.

Storrie's recent achievements include a Primetime Emmy nomination for his guest hosting stint on "Saturday Night Live" and a supporting part in Sarah Polley’s film adaptation of "The Bell Jar," sharing the screen with Billie Eilish. The second season of "Heated Rivalry," which explores the evolving relationship between Storrie’s Ilya and Hudson Williams’ Shane Hollander, is currently in production and expected to premiere next spring. Meanwhile, the "Ghost Rider" production is progressing swiftly, with principal photography planned to commence in New York next year. The casting for "Ghost Rider" has been a long-awaited event for fans, particularly with Ryan Gosling having expressed a strong desire to embody the character for an extended period.

This new adaptation of "Ghost Rider" comes after previous iterations, including Nicolas Cage's portrayal of Johnny Blaze in earlier films and Gabriel Luna's performance as Robbie Reyes in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." The specific version of Ghost Rider that Gosling will play, and consequently, the villainous character Storrie would portray, remains undisclosed by Marvel Studios. However, given Mephisto's recent introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, played by Sacha Baron Cohen in "Ironheart," speculation is rife. This potential casting news was first reported by THR, though Marvel Studios typically refrains from commenting on casting until official announcements are made.

The creative landscape of the entertainment industry is constantly evolving, offering fresh opportunities for emerging talents to make their mark. Stories of dedication and perseverance, much like Connor Storrie's journey from waiting tables to starring opposite major Hollywood figures, serve as powerful reminders that dreams, when pursued with passion and hard work, can indeed become a reality. This upcoming Marvel project not only promises exciting new narratives but also highlights the vibrant and dynamic nature of filmmaking, where new stars are born and beloved characters are reimagined for a new generation, fostering a sense of positive anticipation and inspiration within the global audience.

DGA Excludes 'You Can See Everything' From Feature Film Race, Confining It to Documentary Category
Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim's "You Can See Everything," a film blurring the lines between documentary and narrative, has been deemed ineligible for the Directors Guild of America's top feature film award. Despite A24's efforts to classify it as a hybrid, the DGA will only consider it in the documentary category, adhering to its strict rulebook regarding film submission and production. This decision impacts the film's awards season momentum, particularly for the highly influential DGA feature prize, which often predicts the Oscar for Best Director. While it loses a shot at this accolade, the film remains eligible for other major awards, including the Academy's Best Documentary Feature and potentially Best Picture.
