The Last 2022 Acura NSX Type S: A Collector's Dream on Auction
The concluding unit of the second-generation Acura NSX Type S, chassis number 350 out of 350, has emerged on the auction block. This particular vehicle, an exclusive 2022 model, features a striking Gotham Gray Matte Metallic finish, complemented by a suite of performance and aesthetic enhancements including carbon ceramic braking, carbon fiber aerodynamic elements, and a premium ELS audio system. With a remarkably low mileage of just 450, its current bid has reached $210,000, signaling its considerable appeal to enthusiasts and collectors alike.
This particular NSX Type S is distinguished by its unique Gotham Gray Matte Metallic paint, a finish that, while visually arresting, demands specific maintenance as it cannot be polished or easily repaired. Complementing this, the car is equipped with a carbon fiber splitter, rear decklid spoiler, roof, diffuser, and side skirts, enhancing both its aerodynamics and aggressive stance. It rides on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires, and features magnetorheological dampers for superior handling. For added protection, the vehicle has been treated with paint protection film and a ceramic coating. Inside, the cabin features Ebony leather with contrasting red stitching, providing a luxurious yet sporty ambiance.
The market value for the NSX Type S consistently exceeds its original retail price. Analysis from DriveIndex indicates an average market valuation of approximately $233,945 based on 20 sales. Dealer listings for comparable models typically range from $248,800 to $300,000, with specific examples like a 409-mile unit listed at $249,990 and a 152-mile unit at $259,995. A notable sale in February 2026 saw a Type S fetch $278,000, underscoring the strong demand for these limited-edition vehicles. Given this unit's status as the final production model and its low mileage, experts project its fair value to lie between $240,000 and $300,000, with a likely sale price around $265,000. Potential buyers should verify title transfer procedures, as the current Florida title is held under the seller's son's name, and a pre-purchase inspection is recommended to assess the hybrid system and the condition of the matte finish.
The 2022 Acura NSX Type S marks the culmination of the second-generation NSX's production run, offering enhanced power from its advanced hybrid powertrain, refined aerodynamics, and quicker gear shifts. Acura meticulously crafted only 350 units of this exclusive model, making each one a highly sought-after collector's item. The Gotham Gray Matte Metallic finish was specifically introduced for the Type S, further cementing its unique identity within the NSX lineage.
This NSX Type S stands out as one of the most coveted contemporary Japanese performance cars. Its value has consistently surpassed its initial sticker price, with examples featuring low mileage and original launch colors commanding the highest figures. As the ultimate vehicle produced in its series, this car occupies a distinctive and esteemed position in the annals of NSX history, making it an extraordinary acquisition for any discerning collector.
The current auction for this unique automobile has garnered four bids, reaching $210,000, with a full week remaining. Considering its unparalleled significance as the final NSX Type S ever manufactured, combined with its minimal mileage and the distinctive Gotham Gray matte paint, this vehicle represents a singular piece of Acura's legacy. While an aftermarket lift system and the title being held by a family member introduce minor complexities, addressing these points and confirming the title transfer should precede any bidding action. The projected final sale price is expected to be around $265,000, with the potential to reach $300,000 if bidding intensifies among serious collectors.
